***UPDATE***Blessed and Amazed!

***UPDATE*** Over the past month we have been working tirelessly to sell the rest of our donations. We’ve listed on Craigslist and Ebay and set up for a second yard sale day. Unfortunately, our sale day started out with pouring rain so we’ll have to try that one again, but the stuff on Craigslist and Ebay has been SELLING!! We will continue to plug away until the garage is empty but I couldn’t wait one more day to fill you in on the most recent total. Because YOU generously donated things for us to sell, we have raised $2,895.09 toward our adoption! That is all just from yard sale donations!! Unbelievable! I cannot express my thanks enough. What a joy and privilege it has been. Thank you.

(original post) My heart is full. As most of you know, yesterday was our big yard sale and bake sale fundraiser! After a couple weeks of hard work, receiving donations, sorting, pricing and selling, the big day has come and gone.

I am completely humbled and amazed by the outpouring of generosity and support from our family and friends and the people in our community. We received donations of things from 25 families that we could sell in our sale and my amazingly talented and generous mom baked like crazy to offer delicious baked goods to our customers. We were shocked by how many families gave us things! Thanks to all of you, the sale was amazing! We were very busy and ended up staying open 3 hours past what we originally planned. I was going to photo document the day so I could blog about it here but, in the end, have only one, measly yard sale selfie we snapped toward the end of a very warm, exhausting, satisfying and fun day. Pathetic, I know.

Yard Sale SelfieWe cannot express our thanks enough. We were blessed with awesome family and friends to help for the day, some of which started setting up with us at 6 am! We had so much help with organizing, dickering, collecting money, hauling, setting up, tearing down, preparing lunch and babysitting our kids. We had people praying for us and sending us messages throughout the day to encourage us. Friends came from near and far to show their support. We even had an afternoon frozen coffee delivery for a much needed pick me up! It was a very fun, very blessed day for our family.

Because of all of this and God’s provision of a beautiful sunny day and more blessings than we could have imagined, we raised $1,929.39 toward our adoption fund! (Funny number isn’t it?!?!) Isn’t that awesome?!?! AND…our garage is still packed full of things we are going to pull out for a smaller sale we plan to have over labor day weekend and several larger items we will be listing on Craigslist and Ebay. We are so incredibly thankful!

A friend on Facebook posted this quote today:

Vision beyond your resources? Don’t let fear dictate your decisions. If your vision is God-given, it will most definitely be beyond your ability and beyond your resources. The God who gives the vision is the same God who makes provision. ~ Mark Batterson

God is providing and we are so blessed to experience his faithfulness yet again!
